❝ I’ve always come from a very sport driven background, playing many sports growing up. When I finished school, I went to uni studying criminal justice, realising after just a year it wasn’t for me. I got straight in to PT and am still here almost 15 years on. I went to uni studying exercise science and a bachelor of business. I studied full time, whilst also delivering 50+ PT sessions a week for 4.5 years. Throughout my PT career, I have participated in so many different things; from bodybuilding where I stepped on stage at my leanest, lightest and unhappiest… struggling with post comp binge eating and blow outs. I realised that sort of extreme eating is only great for short term, but never for the long term. I have done powerlifting, going the opposite way, having to cut for a comp, eating more foods, getting super strong. Loving it, but knowing that the health aspect still wasn’t ideal.
I’ve become a mum and had to find the balance between regular exercise, still eating well, prioritising sleep, and also juggling mum guilt.
Recently I have been doing triathlons and half ironmans, which requires plenty of training and dedication. A lot of early mornings, getting up on my days off when I’d just prefer to be having a sleep in.
Over the years I have gained vast experience in different types of training, lifestyles, all whilst managing 2-3 gyms, being a mum, keeping myself fit and strong, and honestly, probably only the last 2-3 years have really found that great balance. ❞
